      Description

If you set the background of widgets to transparent it stays black in android. It doesn't matter if the background is set with QPainter, setAttribute(Qt::WA_TranslucentBackground) or with the stylesheet.

Only an (empty) QQuickWidget somewhere in the parent (in this case the MainWindow) can help. Once addWidget(new QQuickWidget()); is called, the widget background becomes transparent when using setAttribute(Qt::WA_TranslucentBackground).
