QFileDialog: Suggestions for URL sidebar

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

      Suggestions for QFileDialog URL sidebar.

Some suggestions from users after their first exposure to the new file dialog in Qt 4.3.0:

      • Right clicking on something should not take you to that path, it should just open the
right-mouse-menu. If you want to delete something from the sidebar by right clicking
it takes you to that path, when all you want to do is really delete it.
      • Icons don't seem to accurately follow the action. It seems there is a "open-folder"
and a "closed-folder" icon, and I assume the "open-folder" would be used to indicate
        the currently selected path... yes?
      • If you drag & drop a new folder into the sidebar the folder icon it gets is much
larger than the others... is this correct?
      • If you drag-and-drop paths into the sidebar area it would be nice to have a 'rename'
option available in the Right Mouse Menu. This would help differentiate between
identically-named subdirectories that are found in different folders.
