Pressing left or right arrow button while text is selected causes the cursor to be placed one step too far to the left or right

When selecting parts of a word and pressing the left or right arrow button, the cursor moves one position left or right from the actual selection, while it should just be positioned at the beginning or end. So if one types "ABCD", selects "AB" and then presses the right arrow button, the cursor will be placed between the "C" and "D", while it should have been placed between "B" and "C".
