Qtvirtualkeyboard arrow navigation doesn't work with QWebEngine

enabling the arrow keys navigation with qtvirtualkeyboard works with everything qwidget or QML based. except a webengine view (to reproduce the basic browser example of qtwebengine is affected)

after navigating to the left or right, and pressing enter to "press" a virtual keyboard button, the cursor goes to left instead and the second time enter is tapped the desired letter will actually appear.

But every time, seems that the actual arrow key event is actually taken by the webview and executed delayed by pressing enter on the VK in arrow navigation mode.
