PCAN-Basic 4.4.0 introduced new functions to retrieve information about all connected channels at once: PCAN_ATTACHED_CHANNELS_COUNT and PCAN_ATTACHED_CHANNELS.

It is to expect that this new variant provides a massive speed improvement and should therefore be investigated as replacement of the currently used loop.

So far that does not seem to be implemented for the Linux PCAN-Basic version, though
