Media Player example cannot open simple avi video

Media player cannot playback avi file.
I usually test this example with short avis from this page and they work. This time they do not

When trying to play a short message is displayed:
Cannot play stream of type <Unknown> (see screenshot)

Tested on:
Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS,
Qt lib and Qt creator from online installer
g++ 64 bits (Ubuntu 7.5.0-3ubuntu1~18.04) 7.5.0
