Why don't we sign the binary files for Windows and Mac?

    • macOS

Is there a reason that Qt doesn't use the operating system code signing process specific to Vista/Windows 7 and OS X on the binaries installed with the installer?

For a little extra overhead, this would give users confidence that the Qt libraries come from us. The signatures are in the files or resource bundle.

On systems where signing is not used, it is ignored.
