Gnome on wayland is the desktop environment, but Qt uses the XCB due to lots of rendering bugs with the wayland backend.

Whenever I start Creator with anything enabled that uses QML, then my display server will crash after a couple of minutes, even when only opening/closing menus, etc. No QML designer is ever opened.
Creator is totally stable when no QML-using plugins get loaded.
Robert recommended opening a bug against QML Designer for now, you might need to move that over to Qt once you can be sure this is not a Creator issue.

My logs only say the display server has restarted, no extra information:-/
I have no idea how to debug this
