    Description

The differences in input file format between Qt3D and Qt Quick 3D create a barrier to adoption of the latter.  Since both use assimpl under the hood, is there any reason why QQuick3D can't load the same formats as Qt3D Mesh?  e.g. STL and PLY files.

There are differences driving developers back and forth between the two 3D modules, and it would be appreciated if there was as much common ground as possible.  Users shouldn't be forced to use the low level Qt3D just because setting source url on a Mesh or SceneLoader supports more formats than Model in QQuick3D.
