When closing the browser tab/window then it does not call the closeEvent() for the top level window

When closing the browser tab/window then it does not call the closeEvent() for the top level window, it works fine if you try to quit the application via the menu, but there is no way to stop it from closing the application if the browser tab or window is closed directly. This can be reproduced with the application and textedit examples.
