Unable to Drag and Drop under MacOS

Using Qt provided drag and drop robot example - unable to paint the robot.  When mouse cursor is over the robot the curser changes from an arrow to a hand.  When mouse key is pressed on colour, and dropped on the robot, the robot remains the same colour.

Expected Result: when a colour is pressed and dragged onto the robot, that releasing the mouse over the robot will colour the robot the selected colour.
