I read the issue #73430 concerning a ribbon implementation in Qt. As there exist patent problems to reimplement it for a cross platform use I want to suggest to implement a Qt ribbon widget as part of Qt Windows Extras. The implementation can be a wrapper around the Microsoft ribbon framework which simplifies the use of the API and makes the best possible integration into the other Qt functionality and framework. I hope that this kind of implementation does not violates patents.
