    Description

      The ICU project has announced a new major version of ICU.
      We use ICU in (at least) locale, collation and timezones, with QString's locale-aware comparisons using the collation part.
      We should evaluate the new ICU as a replacement for the old.

      Its announcement mentions modularity, which suggests we might be able to link in only as much of it as we actually need.
