QTextEdit seems to show characters behind the text

      Just have a look at the attached screenshot.

      This is the texteditor demo from Qt 4.7 built today (last commit 6dcdab8d9ee66f420a525400d873cfccf78c7003 ). When I set the font to Courier New I see these things next to the text.
