Description
What is the benefit? Why is this valuable?
6.2 brought general updates to Multimedia, but QNX has been missing. This is requested by Ford, expecting support by the end of 2021. Work is to commence after 6.2 release by the multimedia team.
Analysis has brought additional technical aspects to be clarified regarding toolchain libraries.
What are common use cases?
Multimedia on QNX platforms, mostly playing but also some video.
Technical information
Today no Gstreamer support. Some support and compiles, but examples crashed with a page fault. Also, plug-in back-end missing, so aspirational it is due to uncertainty and dependencies.
