    Description

Currently there is no way to create a stylesheet drawing border around selected cells as a whole instead of individual cells, since selectors like ::item:next-selected or ::item:previous-selected are not supported.

Granted, it is ambiguous whether it refers to next/previous in a row or column, but deciding it refers to row is still better than not implementing at all.
