Build Issues with long file paths

I have found that in our project the build system fails to find dependencies if the file path to where my project is located is too long. I would assume this depends on the project but for our project specifically the path to the project can not be longer than 45 characters if it is it fails to find a dependency in one of it's dependencies

..\..\..\xxxxxx\xxxxxx\xx-xxxxxxxx\qml\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\UI\Diagnose\xxxxxxxxx\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.qml

the x's are in place of letters so you know what the length of the path it's trying to find is
