Description
Accessibility support has been requested by customers and widget support has been available since 6.5. This work item covers the same level of support for QML.
In general we need to make sure applications can be used by everyone regardless of ability level is the right thing to do. In addition, support for screen readers is increasingly becoming a requirement from customers, and is also a legal requirement in some jurisdictions. It is often brought up as deciding point in the jury of public opinion. Having working accessibility will set Qt apart form the competition, since developing support for it often does not get priority.
Tasks:
- Implement basic accessibility (buttons, checkboxes, sliders, etc). As a proof of concept, this would move screen reader support from the "not possible" category to "it can be done".
- Full accessibility support (table views, etc).
