Description
Low priority, in my opinion, but:
- Would it be possible that if qt tries to use a native dialog and it crashes, then qt could automatically catch this and open the basic qt dialog instead?
- Would it be possible to disable native dialogs altogether either during compilation of qt or (even better) run time, by e.g. setting an environment variable before starting a binary which uses qt?
Basically, native dialogs is a great thing, but it becomes a huge disadvantage if there are any problems with these dialogs.
Example: imagine you have a system on which you don't have root rights and where old version of qt and kde is installed and you would like to develop a qt 4.7-based application on this system. You compile your copy of qt and ... you may run into e.g. QTBUG-9535: if you really don't have root rights the "solution" bails down to "if you want to use designer – use another computer"....
