Change https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtbase/+/375092 introduced a regression on Nvidia GPUs when Qt is configured with "-opengl es2". 

The warning "libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to authenticate" is shown on startup, and the application crashes if the window is resized to a size larger than approximately 2000x2000.

This has been reproduced on two separate machines, and at least two different driver versions.
