Line height off by one and vertical misalignment in QPlainTextEdit on Mac OS X

Replace the QTextEdit in the text edit demo with a QPlainTextEdit. When selecting a line directly below a line where the glyphs stretch into the font's descent, you will see that the selection rectangle overwrites the bottom line pixels of these glyphs.
