Creator complains about not having highlight definition for its own Disassembler

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    • Bug
    • Resolution: Unresolved
    • P3: Somewhat important
    • None
    • Qt Creator 3.1.2, Qt Creator 4.2.0-rc1
    • Debugger, Editors
    • Windows 7 64 bit

    Description

Does the text that the Disassembler displays follow a common standard? If it does, please close this report as "Invalid" and ignore the rest.

      1. Open a project and build it.
      2. Start debugging this and stop at a breakpoint.
      3. Switch Creator to instruction-wise operation.
The disassembler shows up and displays a banner that "A highlight definition was not found".

If the displayed text does not follow a common standard (see above), there won't be any highlight definition available, so this warning is pointless and should be removed. If possible, Creator should handle the highlighting itself for the Disassembler.
