Tutorial refers to Tools > Options .. but "Options" not in Tools drop down list

I am a novice running the latest QT download installed on both Windows 8.1 and OS X Yosemite, trying to work my way through the tutorial on each platform. I almost immediately hit a problem on the Mac that does not appear on the PC.

On my PC I can go to Tools > Options ... on my PC where it is directly below "diff..."

On my Mac I an go to Tools, but "diff..." is the last item in the drop down menu. "Options" is missing. Nothing I have tried succeeds in locating it to perform (for example) Tools > Options > To-Do > Add.
