Qt Creator 3.3.0 + GDB 7.7.1 value inspection fails

When I set a breakpoint and step through the code, hovering over variables to inspect the value, I get the effect shown in the video. This happens often but not all the times, both with async on and off.

The Locals view shows the variables correctly most of the times, but sometimes it also fails or takes a long time before values are populated.
