Qt Creator fails to open any windows, producing XCB errors instead

    Description

      At the end of installing
      http://download.qt.io/snapshots/qt/5.6/5.6.0-rc/331/qt-opensource-linux-x64-android-5.6.0-rc_331.run
      I left the "Start Qt Creator" check-box checked, as it was by default, and hit Finish. Qt Creator did start a process, but no window appeared. I shot down that process and started it manually:

      No window showed up.

      (My current working directory was /home/eddy/test/release/,
      in which /home/eddy/test is a symlink to /mnt/test/eddy/, on a separate partition from /home/eddy/. However, on cd-ing to /mnt/test/eddy/release/ instead, I observe the same problem.)
