Version control process timeout limited to 99s

The version control program timeout (mercurial, SVN, etc...) cannot be disabled and the spin box for setting the timeout value is limited to 99s. On large projects and on a laptop HDD, switching to a distant revision can take a while. QtCreator kills the mercurial process while updating, which lets the repository files in a totally borked and hard to recover state.
Setting the timeout to 0s is not a working solution. For instance, when renaming a project file, a dialog asking to kill the mercurial process pops up immediately.
