macOS: "Select Widget to Add into Expression Evaluator" feature makes Qt Creator unusable

It is not quite clear to me what Select Widget to Add into Expression Evaluator is supposed to do. When selecting it, the curser becomes a cross and Qt Creator does not react to mouse clicks anymore.

If this is not a bug it should at least be something that can be interrupted with the Escape key.
