[REG 4.3->4.4] Line filter in locator is not fast enough

When I try to jump to a line, I type Ctrl-L, the line number and immediately press Return.

This works fine in 4.3, but in 4.4 there's a short delay (~200-500ms, it's hard to tell) in which Return has no effect (and the line number doesn't appear in the locator).
