Description
At present, I am looking at an editor split with title bar as shown in the attached picture.
Unfortunately, the Preprocessor menu and the highlighted menu have displaced the Symbols menu so it is represented by the ">>" symbol indicating that there's more stuff, but you can't get to it.
I never use the two menus that I can see there. I use the Symbols menu all the time, when I can get to it.
I would like to eliminate the elements I don't use so that the Symbols menu is always visible. Alternately, I would like to be able to re-order the elements to put the ones I don't use in the position where they are eliminated first as the window gets narrower.
A response to my post on the Qt Interest mailing list suggested these alternates:
1) The outline sidebar
That's nice, but lacks the ability to get an alphabetized list. It also takes up horizontal space in the main window.
2) The locator filter "C++ Symbols in Current Document".
I was unaware of that particular filter. I will use it more in the future. This is still not as readily available as the Symbols menu.
