Make Qt Creator downgrades safe

    Description

      A user tries a beta version of creator and then switches back to the stable version.

      Expected result:

      • Both the beta and the stable version work as expected

      Actual result:

      • Using the beta version works fine
      • Switching back to the stable version breaks the settings.

      Fix this.
