On an iMAC under High Sierra I've a partition with my Qt projects.
I also have a VMWare Fusion 8.5 Pro with a Windows 10 x64 virtual machine.

When a project folder is saved on a VMWare shared path, files cannot be modified.
When opening an existing project, a first message is displayed: Cannot write file XXXX.pro.user and it is impossible to save modified source files.
If the same project is open from macOS everything is OK.
If using a "classic" smb sharing mechanism everything is OK in the virtual machine.
