Debugger hangs

      Qt 5.10.1 running debug configuration for Mac desktop

      While stepping through C++ code, the debugger hung with the busy spinner over the variables pane. The last action I took before this was a Step Over. I have waited 5 minutes, which should be way more than adequate for the task involved.
