Android: Cannot reopen android project and run out of the box

Steps to reproduce:

• create a Qt Quick Application from templates, build, deploy, run / debug / profile on device or simulator
• close QC
• restart QC open the session that had the project
• run / debug / profile again

Current result:

• I'm getting

Cannot find the androiddeploy Json file.
Error while building/deploying project untitled58 (kit: Android for armeabi-v7a (GCC 4.9, Qt 5.7.1 (android_armv7)))
When executing step "Deploy to Android device"

on the Application output pane

• when enabling another kit and switching back to the former I'm again able to run / debug / profile [this makes me wonder whether this might be still related to the qmake parsing issue]
