The use case is: create a new, empty file and add it to a .qrc file. These are the steps I would (attempt to) take to do this:

1. Right click on the resource folder that the new file should be added to:
   
2. Select empty file from the wizard:
   
3. There's no way to add it to resources, even though I already got to this point from the context menu of a resource directory:
   

What happens instead is that the file is added to the project via DISTFILES and that has to be manually removed and then manually added via the qrc editor.

Another option could be to add a new file through the qrc editor, but that isn't possible currently, as you can only add existing files.
