Description
How do I add a new "folder" to a qmlproject definition?
In another issue involved in editing the qmlproject filem,
I was told to use the "new file or project" option rather than
manually editing the qmlproject.
I tried to do as instructed. I did a search on
"qt qml how to add a new FOLDER to a qmlproject"
The first element in the search result gave me the same
information that was given in the previous issue.
So I followed it to the best of my ability.
I have a folder that is a subfolder of the same parent as my project folder.
Folder Structures:
home
|
— img |
— item1 |
— item1.qlmproject |
— item1.qml |
I wanted to add the img folder as an image directory.
The process I followed was limited to creating another qml file.
I navigated to the "img" directory. i tried to create a different
type of file, but the tool process would not allow for it, so
i continued and created a qml file.
When i selected "choose" I received an error message (see attached)
and the new qml file was created in the project directory (as a qml file).
Looking at the qmlproject file, its contents was unchanged.
This did not accomplish what the goal that I was trying to accomplish.
I wanted a "global" directory (above the project directory) where common
resources are shared among all of the projects.
Clearly the process recommended did not result in the goal I was
seeking.
Again there does not seem to be any documentation on how to use the
qmlproject file.
