Plugin Development with released Snapshots - not able to use "-test" option

For automated tests (ci) i use and build qtcreator plugin against snapshots from download.qt.io.

These are released as release (with optional .debug files)

If i compile my plugin, i could not test it cause -test option in qtcreator is missing. The test feature depends on debug/release build

How can i test release plugins?

How can i test plugins with the snapshots?

The ci files are copied from the github actions provided from the qtcreator plugin wizard.
