Adding new files to Git from within Qt Creator does not work

    Description

      When creating new files from inside Qt Creator and opting to add the file to version control (Git in this case), the resulting new file does not appear in the Git staged area as I would expect it to as verified from the command line (Terminal). The file instead still appears as not staged for commit.
