i have a generic project. i edit some settings in the build or clean steps. the changes become effective, but the command lines shown in the steps' summaries don't reflect this until the next reload of the project.

the affected settings are the parallel jobs and make targets, while overriding make or the arguments is immediately reflected.

i haven't checked whether this affects other build steps or project types.
