identation is not kept when editing a shell file

steps to reproduce:

1. open an extensionless file starting with

#!/bin/bash -eux

2. place the cursor at the end of an indented line

3. hit enter twice in a row

desired behaviour: both of the new empty lines should be indented

actual behaviour: the second line isn't indented
