I'm trying to use QtCreator with the git system on forum.nokia.com.

1) Go to <http://www.forum.nokia.com/>
2) log in
3) click 'community' on the top (ish) right
4) click 'projects'
5) click 'create a new project'/etc/etc

I don't know if you already have a project there or not, but I'm sure you can figure it out. You can probably use some other system that requires a password for the repositor.

My project is <https://davidmaxwaterman@projects.forum.nokia.com/git/metrodict.git>.

When I try to clone this inside QtCreator, I can see from the stdout that is shown to me, that it is trying to prompt me for a password, but there is no way to enter the password.

It seem that the only option is to embed the password into the URL, which is not satisfactory.

Please consider adding a dialog allowing me to enter a password manually.
