Scxml editor doesn't follow color scheme

The Design plugin for editing scxml state machine descriptions doesn't follow the color scheme that was setup in Qt Creator. I am using a dark theme, but the editor shows up with a bright, almost white background. I would have expected the editor to use the color scheme that was selected instead, reverting to a dark background and lighter rendering of states and transitions.
