The meaning of icons on the top edge of a selected state

When I select any state in SCXML editor, it looks e.g. like this:

With some practice, one can figure out what do the icons in mini-toolbar on its top edge mean (draw a transition, a transition to a state, a transition to the next parallel,...), esp. given that these are mini-version of the icons from the left sidebar.

It'd still be nice if the icons either had some short tool-tip explaining the function or if documentation mentioned these in some way
