Extension manager repository and infra

What is the benefit? Why is this valuable?

To enable updates for individual extensions without updating Qt Creator, there should be repository which allows listing, downloading and updating extensions.

What are common use cases?

• User opens the extension manager view in Qt Creator which downloads the list of the available extensions & extension packages
• User does search based on extension name, keyword or tags
• User updates individual extension
• User gets notification about new updates for the extensions that have been installed

  • Datamodel for the extensions & packs. What information has to be shown in the list view, what should be shown in the detail view of the extension. How the extension package refers to individual plugins.
  • Support for different licenses for extensions
  • Management interface for the repository
  • Consider how the extensions schema can be expanded later to cover e.g. ratings, reviews
