Description
I prefer to view help text in a separate window in Qt Creator, so I generally set the On context help preference to Always Show In External Window. I think it should also be possible to do a free-text search for documentation and have the result displayed in that window.
Currently, if I use Help index mode of the Locator/Type to locate feature and select from the results pop-up, the documentation page always appears in the Help mode display of the main Qt Creator window. That happens even if I use the locator field in the external help window, i.e. I search in the "documentation" window and get documentation in a different window, which is not exactly intuitive.
A simple solution would be to make sure that documentation is shown in the window where you actually enter your search text, although you might also change behavour so that the external window is always used.
