Start a dummy application on Simulator. Kill the application with the "stop" button either in the debugger toolbar or application output toolbar. The debugger stops, but most of the time (but not always) the application stays "open" in the Simulator, sometimes switching to a black screen. After that, it is not possible to deploy to the Simulator until it is restarted.
