Qt Creator 15.0.1 crashes shortly after startup

After upgrading Qt creator from version 15.0 to 15.0.1, starting Qt creator crashes within a few seconds after starting. This happens about half the time. Once successfully started, it seems stable. I have a few projects in my workspace and Qt creator shows it is busy indexing and analysing them on start and then crashes. Could not find an obvious pattern.
