"Highlight selection" may temporarily freeze Creator

    Description

      1. Make sure that "Highlight selection" is checked in "Edit" -> "Preferences..." -> "Text Editor" -> "Display".
      2. Open the svg file from QTBUG-125885 in Creator's Plain Text Editor.
      3. Highlight the character 1 in the editor.
        Expected: All the 1's in the editor are being highlighted. At least the UI remains usable.
        Actual: Creator freezes for a couple of seconds and doesn't accept input during that period.
