As per Documentation & Tools OKR 2025/06-09 item D-5-7: 

Based on the feedback on 2024 Qt Creator survey, where the debugging functionality (quality and performance) was the top finding, condict research on options to make the debugger more UX friendly (increased reliability and other internal improvements are outside the realm of this).

Benchmark what is the state of the art in alternative tools and how Qt tools could be improved based on the findings:

• Visual Studio Code,

• CLion,

• selected embedded hardware specific tool (to be selected in collaboration with the embedded team).

Specifically:

• What kinds of additional interactions do the debugging tools provide

• What kinds of user experience improvements do the debugging tools provide
