      The first search result for ‘qtcreator remote debugging’ leads to the page ‘https://doc.qt.io/qtcreator/creator-how-to-debug-remotely-gdb.html’.

      Unfortunately, only one option for remote debugging is described there. The option that is much simpler and more natural for me, via ‘Deploy Settings | Deploy to Remote Linux host’, is unfortunately not mentioned at all.

      When I first read the website, I also had the impression that ‘gdbserver :1234 <executable>’ had to be started by me, but this is not the case. Perhaps it would make more sense to include this background information further down the page or to emphasise more clearly that this is done automatically by Qt Creator.
