Based on developer feedback, the new project selection process is often confusing as the category splits are perceived inconsistent.

The current layout is:
C++ category has GUI app / Mobile app / Console app
QtQuick has UI / app / plugin
Other has C++ lib / unittest / widget / creator plugin / ...

It seems the C++ category is split across targets, the QtQuick ones across project components and Other is a mix of things that could go either way (why is C++ lib not a C++ project ?). I would suggest a reevaluation of these groups to better reflect expectations or improve consistency. Note that I'm not saying that the templates themselves should be changed, just that developers new to the SDK find it difficult to make the right choice for their project based on the current template selection layout.
